1. You know how I am, Mrs. Townsend, it takes a lot to particularly affect me. But, all in all, I have to say Brandon's preformance moved me the most(he's suspended at the present). I laughed and had to catch myself. He prayed, if you can call that prayer.
2. I'll always remember the person who hosted it. And feel a tad guilty that I wrote the wrong poem.
3. The Poetry Cafe could be improved if I was in it, of course :D But in all seriousness, it was the best as it was!

1. It really helped me in a way because I felt as though I was comfortable around them and some of them I didn't even know. One of the poems I really like is Beakies because it was sweet and to the point.

2. I would remeber Phil singing Never would have Made" and that one girl singing, I believe.

3. I think what needs to be change is the time we have..I think more time would be great.

1.it affected my learning because in some of the poems that were being read i could see that whatever their fear was, it was getting in the way of how they act/or perform in school.
2.One thing I will always remember about the Poetry Cafe is how everyone who read and sung had the courage to get up there and do it.
3.It can be improved by next time everyone can participate(even though I didn't)and there should be a little more time so that there is no rush at the end.

1. Being in the Poetry Café affected my learning because it shows that when I have to read aloud something personal I will read extremely fast. I noticed that because everyone asked what I said and that it was just all a blur.
2. A positive thing that I will always remember is how everyone was so respectful to everyone and didn’t make fun of the different poems and songs.
3. I think it can be improved by allowing us more time and doing it in the morning so we can enjoy it more.

1.The peotry cafe really helped out my learning because it was something that can release negitive energy that builds up and takes up from our learning enviornment {stres)
2. One thing I will always remeber is the words that everyone spoke to make it a great event. And also i will never forget the reason that all of us was there and it was to LET IT GO.
3. To tell you the truth, and im being honest, there was no room for improvements becuase it was something that was perfect in my eyes, even if someone messed up on a word or even if someone didnt sing right or even if someone has a deep voice that is to deep and shouldnt be saying LET IT GO-LET IT GO-LET IT GO, on a slow tempoed song. its all about everyones courage (becuase even if someone messed up the stood up there proud).

love you MRS.Townsend(not like that)

1. It helped me understand that im not the only one who is going througth alot in life and that I shouldn't hold my feelings to myself.
2. I will always remember when both Marcus & Marcus, Aliciah, and phil performed.
3. I think it can be improved by allowing more time and have more people participate, IF they want to.

1. I absoloutly loved the poetry cafe and it helped me immensly by pushing me and encouraging me to get up in such a large audience(ive only been in an audience of about 20 people). I think that i am even more outgoing and have a higher self confidence than what i had in the begining of this school year. I also let go of sooooo much guilt, as you know, that was installed in me over the years.

2. I will always remember how i felt and the rush of relief and now all i have to do inorder to truly let go is to confront my parents. I will ALWAYS remember you ,the one person who realized i had a problem although ive gotten close to past teachers.

3. In all honest opinion DON'T change anything except maybe the time to construct the poem so that the future cafe people can express themselves fully and as complete as they want to.

1. The poetry cafe helped to learn that every one has a perfect life like it seems. I learned that sometimes people depened on this school as a home. It was a moving experince and it almost made me cry. I didn't because I don't know half the feelings some of those people had.
2. I will always remember the poem Tony said. It was a motivating poem and it brought excitment to my heart. It made me feel like i could anything.
3. I think the talking during a poem was disrepectful. Also I think the singing while others were singing was terrible. I think that is the biggest thing, but other than that it was great.

1. Participating in the poetry cafe affected my learning because I was able to release a burden off of my shoulders to people that I cared about, and some i didn't even know. I felt comfortable in front of everyone, like a big family. :)

2. What I will always remember was that some really shy people shared their poems/songs, and it touched me that they had enough courage to do this.

3. I think it would be improved if we had more time to do it. I felt like we were somewhat rushed, and I think a longer closing would have had a greater impact.

1.When I participated in the Poetry Cafe I know that I learned a great deal about many different people, experience, and those whom are from different walks of life. I've found a new respect for many people whom I've barely known, and I feel that others have come to respect me.

2. I will always remember all the positive reprocutions from the Cafe.To a point, it wasn't exacly what happened during the Cafe, but rather what happened afterward. The people in this school probably came together a bit more than what they were...and it shows.

3. The Poetry Cafe was a complete success and very little should probably be changed. My younger sister who attended suggested that a less serious topic be used on the next one. Perhaps one for a more joyous occasion. I personally liked the whole ordeal.

1. The Poetry Cafe affected my learning by showing me that every has thier own way of dealing with things and that everyone is unique, with no set of problems identical.
2. I will always remember the courage of the people who read their poems and how almost everyone who was there became closer as students of Cross Creek.
3. The only way I think the Poetry Cafe could be improved is to get the timing better, since we were let out of school late. Next year, we should get out of school early for that! That is the honest truth.

Kaila Wells,

1. Watching the poetry affected my learning in a emotional way and not in a book-smart way. I learned that I should let go of my past because holding on to it isn't hurting anyone but me. Brandon's poem/prayer was the best to me. His was the most memorable and it affected me the most. The way that performing at the poetry cafe could help those people that have stage fright is by telling their story to the entire school and having their support.

2. One positive thing that I will always remember about the Poetry Cafe is how it was lead by students and that's what made it such a close-knit environment for the students.

3. To me I dont think the Poetry Cafe could be improved. I think the main reason why I can say this is because it was led by studens and the program was just something for order. The great thing about that was it just flowed by itself and it was just a free-flowing environment that you could really express yourself in. So I loved the poetry cafe I just wish that I would've performed.

Love ya Mrs. Townsend,

WATCHING IT HELPED PEOPLE UNDERSTAND HOW OTHERS FEEL AND WHAT THEY GO THROUGH. THE PEOPLE THAT WAS SCARED TO TALK IN FRONT OF PEOPLE IT HELPED THEM CAUSE THEY ACTUALLY DID IT SO THEY WONT BE SCARED NEXT TIME. A POSITIVE THIG THAT I WOULD ALWAYZ REMEBEER IS TO LET YOUR PAST GO AND LOOK IN TO YOUR FUTURE. THE POETRY CAFE CAN BE IMPOVE BY THE MUSIC BE A LITTLE LOUDER AND THE PEOPLE TALK A LITTLE LOUDER TOO.

1.) Watching the poetry cafe definitely made me realize that some people may look like their great on the outside but they can really be troubled on the inside. I also learned that you will have to eventually let go of what ever is bothering you on the inside.

2.) One positive thing that I will always remember about poetry cafe is that it gave students the chance to let go of everything that hendered them and I thought that was what Poetry Cafe was all about.

3.) I think Poetry Cafe can be improved by changing the time, other than that everything else was fine.

1. I was highly affected because some of the poems made me cry because they were sad, and people reading the poem finally let it go.

2. I will always remember the kind of atmosphere that was in the room.

3. Poetry Cafe could be improved by being earlier in the day so no one should have to rush to do whatever they were going to do.

Love Ya Mrs. Townsend!!!

1.Watching Poetry Cafe helped me to learn more about people. It also helped me to connect with some people, the ones that read about holding in hatred.

2.One thing I will always remember was how the presenters were comfortable enough to share there feelings with us.

3. I think the only thing wrong with the cafe was the time.

I MISS YOU!!!

I dont know how participating in the poetry cafe helped my learning. Even though I shared something, I really dont understand how that helped me. I still think the same about everything, my life is still the way it was before I read... A positive thing I remeber about the cafe was that you did something special for us and we did something special for you. The poetry cafe could be improved if...I really dont know..

1.I think it affected my learning because I know different things about people that could help me learn how to communicate with them better. Like Ronnie, for example, we don't have any classes together, but now that I know some of his struggles I might be able to talk to him. Or Quanisha, we already have a close relationship but knowing what she goes through I can help her too.
2.I will always remember the amount of respect that was present, because not everywhere you go will get that type of mortality in people and I think that was really nice.
3.I really don't have any improvements to the poetry cafe, it was great just the way it was.

1.By watching the poetry cafe I found out alot about different people. They let out their feelings and feel better when they do and it makes me feel good for them.

2. That I can let my emotions out in anyway and it will make me feel better.

3. I think that it was good just the way it was and the only thing is when people sing the music needs to be louder.

1. How did participating in and/or watching the Poetry Cafe affect your learning? Participating in the Poetry Cafe made me realize that everybody has a story and everyone has something to let go. It made me want to not forget my story or my struggles but to learn from them and become a better person.

2. What is the one (positive) thing that you will always remember about the Poetry Cafe?
I will always remember the way I was inspired and the poems because each one touched me in a special place in my heart. Everybody who participated made me realize that I can go on and I am a stronger person to share my story to people who may or may not understand.

3. How could the Poetry Cafe be improved?
I like it just the way it is don't change it at all.

1.) Watching the Poetry Cafe affected my learning by allowing me to get to better understand my peers that are around me. Ex. The people that sung a song were very brave. This affected my learning by teaching me to not be afraid to learn and share my answers.
2.) I remember the opening(introduction) of the Poetry Cafe.
3.) The Poetry Cafe could have been better if there was food.

1. I didn't participate in the Poetry Cafe but, watching it made me realize how a poem should flow and have a steady rythm to it.
2. That it was an expression of the way othe rpeople felt about somethings in their life abd it was a great expierence.
3. The people saying the poetry some of them could speak a little slower and enouciate their words but, overall it was wonderful.

1. watching the poetry cafe helped me to open my eyes to be more open and let my emotions out instead of keeping them bottled in to the point where it can actually hurt me.
2. One thing I will always remember would have to be the bravery all those kids had that shared their stories.
3. well i dont really see anything that could be imporved everything just seemed perfect.

1. The Poetry Cafe helped me to understand that going in front of a large crowd isn't as hard as it seems and that sharing your fears can help you to overcome them.
2. One thing I will always remember about the Poetry Cafe is how some people went up to the front feeling as if they were going to do horribly, but afterwards they realized it was not that bad and our whole school enjoyed being there and listening to there CCECHS family.
3. The Poetry Cafe could be improved by having more time so more people can read their poems and sing their songs.

1. I think that everybody performed well, but i don't think that it really effected my learning, besides getting out of class.

2. A positive thing i will remember from the poetry cafe is th free hundred i got from participating in it.

3. I dont think it could have, considering everybody performed to the "best" of their ability.

The Poetry Cafe was really interesting. I wouldn't want to perform. Some of the poems were sad though but over all it was really good.

1. The Poetry Cafe affected my learning by making me realize that some people may look "perfect," but they have gone through many emotions. Some performances made me understand why some people act the way they do because of their past.

2. Don't judge people on how they look or act, but what they truly are.

3. Possibly more entertainment, and more time.

Participating in the Poetry Cafe was very fun and nerve wracking and fun at the same time. I was so scared to get infront of the school and express myself but I had fun. Brandon's performance was heart touching and it just kinda relaxed the mood of everyone. People talked about there problems and how it was time to let them go and some just touched me and made me cry. When Phill song he made me cry and it was just a happy cry.

2. What is the one (positive) thing that you will always remember about the Poetry Cafe?

I will always remember Phill, Tony, Brandon's performances were the best and most heart touching positive parts of the Poetry Cafe.

3. How could the Poetry Cafe be improved?

I think that next time you should have a deadline for all poems to be turned in, have guidelines so that you won't have 50 million questions about what is going on, that way the programs will be done turned in on time. Other than that it was excellent!!!!!!
